Very few types of décor have the prestige or exquisite beauty than Persian rugs. These handmade works of art have long been prized for their beautiful patterns, incredible craftsmanship, and outstanding durability. The process of creating these timeless rugs uses both meticulous weaving and intricate design. Persian rugs are painstakingly hand-knotted by skilled artisans over many months.
Weaving begins from the bottom of the loom, by passing several wefts through the warps to form a base to start from. Knots are then tied in rows around consecutive sets of adjacent warps. As more rows are tied to the foundation, these knots become the pile of the rug. Beautiful colors of silk, cotton, or wool fibers are woven by hand, blended to create unique designs and portraits. Persian rugs add timeless class to any room. They represent Persian tradition and its various people, while beautifully capturing the Persian culture.
